Dive  Menu  Image   and Prices

One of the most popular patterns is to go out to the main wrecks, which are about 1-1.5 hours away by banca
(outrigger boat).  Then dive wreck one. During the surface interval we have lunch, possibly snorkel, swim or even
sleep!  Then we dive wreck two.  The more energetic manage to fit in a reef dive on the way back!  Starting at
9.00 am we normally return about 4.30 pm.  All trips are led by a qualified dive guide.

Currency Tips

  • So you thought you were getting away from it all to the middle of nowhere.  I will now prove it!!

  • Previously we quoted prices in USD, but the continual slide of the dollar has made this confusing, particurlarly for those whose currencies have deprectated much less. Check the current rate for your currency by clicking HERE. (However the banks take a bit off the top of this!)

  • There is no internatonal ATM in Coron.  Travellers Cheques are not accepted and everyone charges about 7% for Credit Card use to reflect the charges levied by the banks

  • The further you get away from the major towns like Manila and Davao the less the rate of exchange.  For instance the local bank in Coron pays 3 peso per USD less than in Manila, which is inevitably reflected in the rates we and others can offer.  So change your currency to Pesos at a major bank whilst in Manila etc.
(Just past baggage reclaim in Manila International Airport and just before you exit to the arrivals area, the major Philippine banks have 'windows' where rates can be compared and currency exchanged.  Check the Customs one which usually is the most favourable.)

  • If you need to use an ATM do so in a major town.  The Philippine banks normally have a limit of 5-6000 pesos for a single drawing.  However International Banks like HSBC have much higher limits - depending upon the state of your bank account!!  Your bank's ATM charge may well be less less than the amount charged by places for using your Credit Card.

  • Make sure you change some of your currency into smaller denomination notes. (100,50,20).  Many provincial stores etc have dificulty in cashing 1000 peso notes.

Hint for mobile addicts!  Buy a filipino simm card for use here.  They are very cheap
and the local and international rates are MUCH cheaper than western, especially international roaming!
